Our journey into the world of chickens began 4 years ago.  My husband and I decided we wanted to have our own farm fresh organic eggs.  So we bought 6 Red Star hens.  Mind you I was terrified of birds at that time, so this was quite the ordeal for me!  Our hens were great little egg layers and we became quite attached to them.  Not long after we got them we decided to start incubating eggs.  Here came the need for a Rooster.  I was a little hesitant to have one so we got fertile eggs and incubated those.  Well that batch of chicks produced about 8 roosters! We kept one of them.  He is a Pearl white leghorn.

We have really grown in our love of chickens!  We now have 3 roosters and about 35 hens.

We have fertile eggs available on occasion.  At this time we are not hatching out anymore eggs.... so chicks will be unavailable as of 6-20-2010.

We have: Leghorns, Light Brahmas, Red Stars, Black Cochins, Araucanas, Barred Rocks, Wyandottes and a variety of mixes.  Purebred orders need to be put in a month before you want your chicks shipped.  2 weeks before you would like fertile eggs.  All of our varieties are great egg layers. Pullets and Roosters are also available on occasion.
